Nestled in the serene outskirts of Alicante, Carmen del Campillo Tea House offers an enchanting escape into a world where time slows and tranquility reigns. This traditional teahouse, hidden along Barranc de Sant Gaieta, 45, is a sanctum for tea enthusiasts and those seeking an authentic cultural experience far removed from the urban rush.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be captivated by the exquisite Mauritanian architecture and lush garden oasis that envelops the space. The surroundings, filled with picturesque plants, calming fountains, and flickering candlelit corners, create an atmosphere that feels like stepping into a storybook. It’s a place where the senses awaken—not with bustling sounds or digital distractions, but with the delicate aroma of premium teas and the gentle hum of nature.
The menu focuses exclusively on a thoughtfully curated selection of flavored teas and authentic Middle Eastern pastries, predominantly varieties of Turkish baklava and other sweet Eastern confections. While there is no savory food offered here, the Arabic sweets perfectly complement the complex, soothing notes of mint, fruit, and spiced teas. Customers consistently praise the quality and taste of these treats, noting how the sweetness lingers gently on the palate and pairs beautifully with the teas served.
One could say that Carmen del Campillo prides itself on being less a bustling café and more an intimate retreat. The ambiance encourages lingering—whether gathering with friends to enjoy a few rounds of board games in a cozy nook or losing yourself in a quiet moment of reflection amid shadowy gardens. The occasional soft drizzle or looming thunderstorm only intensifies the charm, transforming the space into a peaceful hideaway perfect for contemplation and connection.
Visitors often highlight the feeling of unplugging, as connectivity is limited here by design, allowing you to truly unwind. The welcoming, attentive service, despite a single waiter covering the vast grounds, is swift without feeling rushed, enhancing the relaxed vibe. A small entrance fee includes a generous pot of your choice of tea, making it an accessible indulgence.
Adding to the teahouse’s character are the charming resident cats that weave quietly through the garden, enhancing the homely, almost magical atmosphere. The journey to the location is an adventure in itself, with a scenic drive that commands care but rewards with spectacular natural surroundings.
Carmen del Campillo Tea House is not just a place to drink tea; it’s a soulful retreat—a Mauritanian oasis where the beauty of simplicity is celebrated and the art of tea drinking is elevated. Whether you're a dedicated tea lover, a culture seeker, or simply in need of a serene moment removed from everyday chaos, this teahouse warmly invites you to linger, savor, and restore your spirit.

Very good place! Beautiful park with beautiful plants and fountains. Interesting Mauritanian house with many old decor. This is not a restaurant. There is no food there. But there is tea and very tasty Arabic sweets. A wonderful place to relax, take photos. You find yourself in a beautiful Mauritanian oasis. I recommend it.

Very authentic place to make some photos and relax in the shadows, or have an evening tea in the garden with candles. They have a selection if flavoured teas and turkish pasteries.
